This project was a real pleasure to be involved in as it went away from the recent surge for all things modern and was a throwback to old-school building practices and materials.

Our customer, based in Knowle, visited our showroom and spoke in detail about how he was unable to find a company that would agree to imitate his current brickwork style. Framemaster was more than happy to accomodate and take the challenge on and produce a perfect end product.

The customer wanted the tile creases put into the brickwork to match the current style of the house but importantly wanted the patio area out back to match the pattern. Handmade Yorkstone is not an easy material to deal with as they, by their nature, have all different sizes and thicknesses making it a really skilled installation.

Originally the brief was for a small patio area in front of the French doors approx 30sqm, but instead the customer decided on an excavation of 105 sqm with a set of steps outside of the French doors, a new retaining wall and a ramp to allow the sit-on lawn mower to access the garden with ease. This was carried out and the photos show how big the area was. We also suggested and installed a modern roof lantern to give the extension a twist.

Internally, we carried out other works such as spot lights, underfloor heating, stone skirting boards and window sills plus knock-throughs with structural lintels to allow for open plan living with a new kitchen. This was a great project and the customer was delighted – he very kindly asked all workers on the project round for a Christmas party to celebrate his new Framemaster extension.
